KAMS was instrumental in the Supreme Court verdict upholding the freedom of parents and schools to choose English as the medium of instruction. This ruling became the foundation for the Government of Karnataka’s decision to introduce English-medium sections in Government Schools, enabling access and opportunity for poor and under-privileged children. This case continues to serve as a national precedent for language choice and equity in education.
Through constructive dialogue, KAMS successfully advocated for reducing 65+ compliance conditions to 25, easing recognition and renewal processes and further its been in negotiation to make simplified. Its efforts have influenced time-bound, single-window, online systems for recognition and fee approval — promoting Ease of Doing Business in Education. It also pushed for the creation of a Special Council Committee — the first of its kind in India — dedicated to resolving school education issues in a structured and consultative manner.

KAMS, in coordination with the Women & Child Welfare Department, led the adoption of Child Protection Policies and POSCO compliance frameworks, ensuring every student learns in a safe and dignified environment.
KAMS has been a consistent advocate for fair and transparent fee regulation, the right of private unaided schools to fix a reasonable fee, balancing parent affordability with institutional sustainability.
The Association has continuously represented schools in addressing RTE reimbursement delays, ensuring timely payments, transparent calculation models, and greater accountability. These efforts have empowered both low-income families and schools supporting inclusive education.
KAMS has been instrumental in championing comprehensive reforms to the SSLC examination system, successfully advocating for the reduction of the passing threshold from 35 per cent to 33 per cent to align with CBSE and ICSE standards, pressing for the introduction of a dual-tier Mathematics framework comprising Basic and Standard levels, and promoting competency-based assessment methods in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework 2023, thereby ensuring that students educated under the State Board receive equitable treatment and recognition at the national level.
Beyond its advocacy efforts, KAMS actively supports a comprehensive range of educational initiatives, including teacher training programmes, digital literacy enhancement, and hybrid learning models, whilst fostering curriculum innovation through strategic partnerships with prominent national examination boards such as CBSE and the Bharatiya Shiksha Board, and delivering student enrichment opportunities through platforms like Brain O'Thon, a nationwide hybrid competition that cultivates creativity, critical reasoning skills, and a commitment to lifelong learning amongst both students and educators alike.
